Happy Saturday Strikers!
Hope you all had enjoyed your day and now, today's blog entry.
Day 6: April 13th
Question: Can I practice greater kindness to the people who are around me?
YES! I can always do more! Even now, everything I do isn't enough. I am a very affectionate person but I can always work on my consistency. I used to write letters to my loved ones at least 3 times a week. I've stopped doing it and I don't remember why. I have this habit of "getting caught up in my own life", which in reality is just an excuse. We all have lives. We all have a million things to do and places to go.
However, saying that you don't have time to be kinder to someone is a flat out lie. I mean, time doesn't wait for anyone, it keeps going and you never know when you'll miss your chance to let those you care for what you feel. I could always reply to messages more, call to see how they care, write them letters, hug them. Let's be honest, the people in our lives never really want a grand gesture. They are usually okay with you just taking an interest in how their day went.
I do have moments when I remember and genuinely want to let everyone know that I appreciate them. For example, I haven't taken the opportunity to put myself out there more often while in South Carolina to make new friends. However, I've woken up a few times since I've moved from Texas, and wanted to let everyone know that not only was I thinking of them but I missed them, I wished them a great day and told them how amazing they are. It was great hearing how they needed to hear that, you never know what you can do for someone with just simply reaching out.
So, what about you? Can you do more?
