Good morning Strikers and Happy Sunday,

Today I wanted to touch basis on the topic of failure.
I feel like there is such a dark stigma on failure and we have learned to view it and a very negative perspective.

For myself, I’ve failed so many times in my life. I’ve had a combination of small and big failures. All handled differently, sometimes the overwhelming feeling felt crippling and other times it was short lived and I started again.

What I’m trying to say is, embrace your failures and use them as momentum to learn from your mistakes and overcome or correct those mistakes next time. You live and you learn. If it didn’t workout this time it doesn’t mean, it’s over, it doesn’t mean give up.

Think of it this way, you want to lose weight and forming the habit of going to the gym and trying to build a routine was going well but then you allowed your mind to tell you that there has been no progress and you fall off. First of all, you have to realize that progress is progress, sometimes it’s not visible but even in this scenario, the fact that you’d been going for let’s say a month, consistently, was a form of progress. Being able to go up in weight at all is progress. Having built stamina to be on the treadmill for 30 mins at a decent speed with a incline, is progress. The crazy part is that every time you fail, you’re almost usually close to seeing the visual progress. If only you kept going, but that’s okay, let’s say you fall off and a week later you remember why you started and got back on and this time it stuck.

I’ve gone through this very scenario several times in my life. I know this feeling. Okay, a business, you build your first business and it’s got some cracks and holes that could be refined but in order for you to see that, you have to fail. It could losing a client, or having to shut down your business overall, regroup and start it again with a new agenda.

Dating? Okay, how many time have you been hurt or caused the hurt to someone else? Regardless of what side you’re on, you’ll find the next person that you’ll open up to and you could start at a new slate, new opportunities not changing anything based on the lessons you’ve learned in your previous break ups or you use some those lessons to better prepare you for the next partner. Are you going to rush in or take your time? Are you going to set expectations or you going to figure lt out as you go? Are you self sabotage or are going to just be a little cautious? Are you going to know your worth and what you derserve or are you going to settle for less?

So keep failing and keep learning. Keep pushing and keep growing. Because failing is growth.
