There's a first time for everything

Good Evening Strikers, I'd a whirlwind of things a happen since my last blog post. I found the courage to make new friends and come out of my shell a bit. Celebrate a birthday, embrace the laughter, forget about tracking my meals, the diet, and simply live in the moment. It was definitely refreshing to just build on life here in Spartanburg. South Carolina and focus on adding more people into my circle. I think that since moving here, because I been so comfortable being as introverted as I naturally am, I hadn't really embraced what this place has to offer. I think that in this journey of self-love and personal growth, I've learned that meeting new people and choosing to make the best of it without the limitations of my mind is not only fun but also very rewarding. Making friends and building on relationships is empowering and makes everything feel a little more bearable and stable.  Now on to something I've never experienced before and what really influenced today...

Keep Failing & Here is why

Good morning Strikers and Happy Sunday, Today I wanted to touch basis on the topic of failure.  I feel like there is such a dark stigma on failure and we have learned to view it and a very negative perspective.  For myself, I’ve failed so many times in my life. I’ve had a combination of small and big failures. All handled differently, sometimes the overwhelming feeling felt crippling and other times it was short lived and I started again.  What I’m trying to say is, embrace your failures and use them as momentum to learn from your mistakes and overcome or correct those mistakes next time. You live and you learn. If it didn’t workout this time it doesn’t mean, it’s over, it doesn’t mean give up.  Think of it this way, you want to lose weight and forming the habit of going to the gym and trying to build a routine was going well but then you allowed your mind to tell you that there has been no progress and you fall off. First of all, you have to realize that progress is...

So I've been on a journey... and here's what I've learned so far.

Hello hello Strikers, It's been a very long time since I've blogged. A LOT has happened since my last post. For example, WE"RE IN A PANDEMIC.  I'm sure a lot of us were not expecting that at all and it most definitely showed some of the world's inner demons thru hate, and so on. We've learned that RACISM is still at the top of the list of what's wrong in our country. (shocker)  Oh, I decided to sign up for a bodybuilding competition a few weeks before everything shut down especially gyms. My Thought process was simple. I'm not happy with where I'm at in my health and fitness journey. This is the time to work on me and used the competition as a big incentive because ya girl had to pay for that! One thing I've learned in the marketing business is if you pay for it, you do it or it becomes more important to you. It's mainly because in the back of your head all you hear is CHA-CHIIIIIIING! Or so I do at least. Oh, I'm going through a break-...

I've decided to QUIT my business.

Hey Strikers! As a few of you know if you've read all of my posts, I was mainly focusing on a business that I started about a year and a half ago with my significant other, Michael. We were on this mission or journey of becoming financially stable and overcoming the paycheck to paycheck struggle. We were in our early 20's struggling to pay rent, buy a decent car, had jobs that made us realize how replaceable we were and had just gone through 2 miscarriages. We learned about social media marketing and how to start the business. we learned and failed so many times, moved from Texas to South Carolina and established ourselves pretty well. It's been a very interesting journey so far, we've grown as a couple, our mentality has flourished and entrepreneurship has definitely put us through the wringer for sure. I believe that we have learned a lot about ourselves as individuals and as a team, learned to start and run a business but the biggest lesson of all was that th...

Living in the moment

Hey Strikers, Today is another day to be grateful for everything we have including the people we love. If you guys follow me on any of my other social media platforms like Instagram and snapchat, you’d know that there was a tornado that hit really close to my literal home yesterday morning. Most of the town is without electricity and there is a significant amount of damage in little old Spartanburg, South Carolina.  I’m currently having to create this blog via phone in the app because I have no WiFi. Although, I wasn’t personally affected other than not having any electricity, I can’t speak for others. However, I think this was a reality check to how quickly life can take a huge turn. I feel and personally I know that sometimes we get comfortable in our routines that we take things for granted. Having a roof, food, loved ones, health and overall life.  We forget to live in the present, forget to call people we love, forget to tell others how we feel and so on. Tod...

Why being "selfish" is okay and important.

Happy Friday Strikers! I hope the end of the month is coming to accomplishing some of your goals or at least kicking off your year to a great start! So, The word "SELFISH" has this negative stigma and it's like this "BAD" thing or characteristic to have. However, I believe that everything has its pros and cons. Yes, of course, being so selfish that you forget about what is important or even come to a disconnect with society as a whole isn't what I'm really talking about here. What I'm trying to say is, it's okay to be selfish for yourself.  If you ever need to seclude yourself from others because you're focusing on yourself, then do that.  If you need to use all your time to plan, pursue and develop goals that will lead you to a happier version of yourself, it's okay. If being away from social media to not get distracted or not compare yourself to other people who are achieving their goals and so on. DO that. This is sounding...

“Why you should start having monthly goals”

Hey Strikers!  Happy Friday everyone, I hope your week was a good one and are getting ready to relax for the weekend. Lately, I’ve been posting on Monday’s but I recently launched a podcast last week and thought it would be even better if I switched my days around. To quickly summarize the concept of my podcast, let’s just say it’s mostly focused on personal growth as I do here but a little different. The name of my podcast is “Let’s Grow w/ Sidney Andino”; I’ll leave a link below in this post for you to check it out if you’re interested in learning more about it!    Now that that’s all out of the way, I wanted to talk about goals. Not just any goals but monthly goals. I feel like a lot of the time I was in high school, (almost 8 years ago, boy where does the time go?!) teachers always asked me what my goals were a year from now, 5 years and even 10 years. Like, I hardly even know my age half the time! Well anyway, I found that setting goals closer to a reacha...

Top 5 Lessons Entrepreneurship Has Taught Me.

Happy Monday Strikers! It's 2020 and it's my first post this year! Unfortunately, I had the flu for a week, therefore procrastinating posting sooner. Today I wanted to talk about how to become an entrepreneur and how it's changed me. Q: How to become an Entrepreneur?       So, there's not this straight, cookie-cutter path to becoming an entrepreneur. It generally depends on what you want to do, what problem are you solving and what you're passionate about. It's not like I grew up totally in love with marketing on social media my whole life. In fact, I was always passionate about painting and art in general. I dreamt of becoming an artist.      Social Media Marketing wasn't even something I was aware of until (I'm going to give my boyfriend most of the credit here) my partner introduced the idea to me and even explained how I could use my creativity to help clients with their businesses.       What I'm basically trying to say i...

Win & Learn

Happy Last Monday of the decade Strikers! Let me just start by saying that although it wasn't my most consistent year with trying to do a lot this year, I'm glad I listened to my friends and started this blog. With that being said let's get into the last topic of 2019.     So, as you can see from the quote on the left today's topic is mainly focused on perspective. If you train your mind to stop thinking you've lost something, someone or even an opportunity and instead thought of it as winning or learning then; you'll be able to handle and overcome anything.      When you win, things obviously play out in your favor and you're overjoyed most of the time.  Those by far the best feelings for sure.       However, what about when things don't go your way or as you planned?        For starters, understand that things don't and won't always go as planned. Life throws unexpected things at us and we have t...

Consistency is Key

Merry Monday, Strikers!         It's the day before Christmas Eve and I'm hoping you all are getting all the final gifts wrapped, and getting all your loved ones situated for the Christmas visits. It's that time of the year when we celebrate with others and embrace what is to come.        That being said something that should be top of mind as we are ending 2019 and the decade for that matter is Consistency. I'm sure you've all heard that phrase "Consistency is key"  and you've maybe, like myself,  rolled your eyes after hearing it a few times until you finally understand why people say it. So, why is consistency such a good thing right? Well, now that I'm a self- proclaimed "blogger", trying to be "YouTuber",  an entrepreneur and to top it all off, pursuing bodybuilding; it all literally makes sense. Now, I said it makes sense but I didn't say it's EASY. Let me share what this 25-year-old has learned so...

How To Stop Living Your Life For Others

Welcome back, Strikers! I hope you all are getting ready for the holidays that are still to come and looking forward to some time with family and friends. Today's topic has been pretty heavy on my mind lately and I wanted to share it with you guys.  That being said I hope this turns out to be a good read for you all and gives you some perspective. I've recently been in a few conversations where people are constantly saying they "Can't" do something because of someone or because they've lost confidence and so on. You know, believe me when I say, I can relate to these other individuals to some degree in the sense where I may have these moments from time to time. However, I think we all forget that we only have one opportunity to make of it what we please. We get caught up in what everyone else wants for us so much so that we stop thinking about what we truly want to achieve. When I say the word "achieve" it can literally be as simple as fin...

5 Misconceptions about the road of entrepreneurship

Hey Strikers!   I hope you all had an amazing holiday with loved ones and friends! Glad to have you back, so today I wanted to kind of touch base on a few things that I hear or have heard about entrepreneurship and then what I've learned in my journey.   Here goes,... 1.  ||   "Planning is a waste of time"    || Let's be honest here, yes, things don't always go as planned and life will always throw you curveballs but that's a generalization and it cant happen to all of us. Even if you're not an entrepreneur. However, just like everything else in life, there are a few basic key points of information we need to make decisions and move the needle forward.  So if you're thinking about starting a retail shop,  e-commerce or anything really you need some kind of guideline. It doesn't have to be detailed but it still needs some thought process, like what are you wanting to pursue, what is your target market and what is the proble...

7 Tips to help you remove negativity in your life!

Welcome back, Strikers!         It feels so good to be back and today I wanted to share a few things you can start implementing into your life to help reduce negativity. Some of these tips I have had to do personally and even shared as advice to others.                   01       Verbal Awareness                 As I've mentioned before in a prior post, everything begins with your mind. First, let's be honest, we talk to ourselves all day, every day. We are constantly, whether consciously or subconsciously get submerged in our thoughts. Therefore, we alone are the one voice we here first thing in the morning and the last every night. So, why not attempt writing down some of the thoughts you have? it's strange but you see your thoughts from a different perspective when it's visible. Then analyze how you're talking to yourself. Are you consta...

Q&A w/ a Personal Trainer

Hey Strikers! It's been a while since I've shared a few things with you! Here's a video I uploaded about fitness questions a few of my friends and followers had to ask. I partnered up with my business partner/ Boyfriend Michael to get some insight into these questions as well. I hope you all enjoy it!

When it's time to take a break...

Hey Strikers!         It's been a minute but today I wanted to focus on knowing or how to basically acknowledge when it's time to "Take a Break". This could be for business owners; for anyone. At the end of the day, we are humans and we go through things like feelings, life situations and being exhausted. Sometimes we find ourselves pushing even after reaching our breaking point and it makes all of our daily tasks so much more difficult and overwhelming.          I speak from experience when I saw that sometimes it can be way too much. Just recently, I found myself feeling overwhelmed by the things going on in my country, overworking myself and feeling a bit homesick.  I wasn't at my "100%". Just know that if you need to take a break whether it's a quick 5 mins or a few weeks on vacation, take it and make sure you're back to your true self and get back on the path you were on. Who knows, when you're back from your break you may ...

Something a little different.

Hey Strikers,  I've been really off lately with the blog.  Feels like a lot has been taking over my attention, like a few changes in the business, adding the whole youtube experience/ fitness vlogging series to my plate and all of the terrifying things happening in the United States.  I wanted to put in my two cents in what has been happening or rather use this platform to somewhat vent. My heart is really heavy and aching right now for humans in general. I understand that there is so much happening all at once, even at this very moment.  I've been having some pretty open dialogues with some of my friends about how incredibly scary it is to feel like world is turning its back to you. I am 25 years old. An offspring of immigrant parents. Latin ''immigrant" parents. Who have sacrificed their native homeland to give me this one. The one often referred to as the "Land of the free." Where we have normalized hate crimes and racism. Where we have ...

30 + reasons why you need to Canva

Hey Strikers! Haven't been as consistent as I'd love to be. Nonetheless, I wanted to piggyback the last youtube video I posted last week on my channel about the introduction to Canva.  I'll go ahead and link it at the end of the blog entry but I basically did a quick tutorial on the basics of Canva.com and even designed a quick image to help give you some depth on how to use it.  Along with that, I wanted to basically list in what ways you as a business owner, a blogger, a freelancer or even someone who just wants to spruce up their social media can easily use it for several purposes.   Here are a few ways to use it for,   Branding:  Logo Design  Brand Identity Kit   Stationery   Brand Color Scheme  Mood Board  Brochure Design  Project Proposal Template  Note Cards  Gift Certificates  Style Guide Digital Marketing:    Media Kit ...

9 Tips for Self-motivation ✨

Hey Strikers! It’s been a minute since my last post, I’ve been consumed by finishing up the making and editing of all the videos to course we have coming out on June 30th!  So, save the date and Keep an eye out for when it’s released!   Now, let’s get to the topic of the day. I wanted to touch basis on one of the difficulties people endure on a daily basis and even more as an entrepreneur. Since beginning my entrepreneur adventure, I found myself on this journey of growth but it’s a one day at a time process. So, here are just a few things I do to motivate myself when I’m having a rather difficult day.  Procrastination & Mindset This is always the first step/ tip to keep in mind. When things aren’t going our way, we have the urge to not want to do it anymore and eventually get in our heads. We start belittling our goals and tearing apart what we are creating. The negativity gets on the driver's seat and takes over. Th...

10 ways to speed up your personal growth

Good Morning Strikers! It's a new week with so many amazing opportunities, let's get this week started with 10 ways you can speed up your personal growth and help you scale your entrepreneur journey as well. 1. Lessons of Failure I realize that this quick title sounds contradicting to success. However, what this means is, learn from failures as well. Success stories whether yours or someone else's can be inspiring but so are those of failures. It highlights how you can overcome or avoid that happening again. 2. Self-focus Focus on yourself rather than trying to do what everyone is doing. Sometimes being authentically you is the best thing you can do for yourself. Follow your own way of approaching things, you'll learn a lot about yourself, as will others.  3. Confidently You This is sometimes easier said than done. Believe me, I still struggle with this. Conduct yourself in a confident manner and show that can handle anything. I'm sure you'...

5 Things to do for Mental Hygiene

Hey Strikers! Good morning, hope you're all having a great week so far. Today, I wanted to kind of touch base in the mind again. I, like everyone, have to continue to work on my mind constantly. Here are a few tips and tricks you can implement today and start as habits to help you keep your mind clean. I know it's easier said than done but the first step is giving it a try.  1. Embrace Your Flaws. Remember that you are a work in progress and there is always, always room for improvements. These flaws are a part of you and are only temporary as you continue to grow and make changes daily.  2. Acknowledge When You're Happy. Do yourself a favor and acknowledge when and WHY you're currently happy. Moments are just that. Moments. Take advantage of it and verbalize it in your head or write it down in positive wording. Sometimes knows the root of a feeling will help us learn what fills our hearts with joy. 3. Early Self-Visualization. This one is a f...

Hey, my name is Sidney. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2018. This blog is mainly going to focus on personal development and things I've continued to learn about becoming an entrepreneur and the changes that come with social media marketing.
